Starlock-type retaining ring, fitted on the 18mm wheel axle. Secures the wheel against sliding off the chassis axle.

Application

The ring clamps onto the wheel axle (Ø250mm) right behind the wheel, preventing it from shifting along the axle and coming off during use. This is a separate component from the wheel cap (Radkappe) – the cap serves a decorative cover function, while this ring provides the actual mechanical retention.

Symptoms – when to replace

• The wheel has noticeable side play on the axle or shifts along the axle during use.
• The ring is visibly deformed, broken, or missing after removing the wheel cap.
• The wheel gradually slides off the axle despite the wheel cap being fitted.
• Friction or wear marks on the axle where the ring should be located.

Selection is based on reference number 43820 and the 18mm axle diameter – rings of this type (Starlock) are designed for one-time installation and are usually destroyed on removal, so it's worth having a new ring on hand for every wheel replacement.

When ordering, note that the wheel cap (Radkappe, 46011) is a separate catalog item – if you also need the cap, order it separately.
