Push-button switch fitted in the motor's electrical box. Controls switching the pump power supply on and off.

Application

The switch is fitted in the electrical box (Schaltkasten) by the motor, housed together with the contactor, terminal strip and the shutdown-delay control board. It starts and interrupts the pump motor power supply via a button on the box housing.

Symptoms – when to replace

• The button sticks in the pressed position or doesn't return on its own after release.
• The pressure washer doesn't start despite working power supply and a functional contactor – the switch contacts may be burnt or oxidized.
• The switch trips for no clear reason during normal operation, with no motor overload present.
• Visible cracks in the housing or button, especially after outdoor use in low temperatures.
• Noticeable play in the button mechanism with no distinct click when switching on.

How to choose the right part

Selection is based on reference number 42644 and comparison with the removed switch – the same switch is used across several different pressure washer series, so the catalog number is a more reliable reference point than the housing's appearance alone.

When replacing, check the condition of the contactor (Schütz) and the overload relay (Überstromauslöser) in the same box – if the starting problem persists after replacing the switch, the cause may lie in one of these components.
