The 260021 guard is a variant distinct from the standard 26002 – on the lance side it has an M12x1 internal thread, and on the nozzle side a 1/4" internal thread. Designed for Kranzle lances terminating in M12x1 thread, with which the standard 26002 guard is not compatible.
Mounted at the end of a lance with M12x1 termination. Accepts the nozzle on the 1/4" internal thread – on this side the arrangement is the same as in standard Kranzle accessories. The guard creates a transition between a lance with M12x1 thread and nozzles with 1/4" thread, while simultaneously protecting the nozzle from direct contact with the cleaned surface.
The key is confirming the thread on the lance side. If the lance has M12x1 termination – the correct guard is 260021. If the lance has a 1/4" thread – the correct guard is 26002. Mixing up the variants results in an impossible fit. Before ordering, check the termination of your lance and compare it with the removed guard.
Kranzle catalogue part. Fits lances with M12x1 termination and works with nozzles with 1/4" thread.
[faq]
What is the difference between guard 260021 and 26002, and how to tell them apart without the part number?|The difference lies in the thread on the lance side. Guard 260021 has an M12x1 internal thread, while 26002 has a 1/4" internal thread. If you do not have the part number, try threading the guard onto the lance: M12x1 is a metric thread with a 1 mm pitch, clearly different from the imperial 1/4". Attempting to fit the wrong guard onto the lance will result in the thread failing to engage from the very first turn.
Is the M12x1 thread on the lance side a standard found across the entire Kranzle range?|No – the majority of Kranzle accessories use 1/4" thread. The M12x1 termination appears in selected lance series. If you are unsure which thread your lance has, measure the external diameter of the tip or compare it directly with the removed guard.
Does guard 260021 fit all nozzles with 1/4" thread?|On the nozzle side, guard 260021 works identically to 26002 – the 1/4" internal thread accepts standard Kranzle nozzles. If the nozzle previously worked with another 1/4" guard, it should fit here as well. The exception is nozzles with non-standard geometry or length – it is worth comparing with the previously used nozzle.
What can hinder installation even when the correct guard has been selected?|A seized thread on the lance tip, accumulated mineral deposits, or a damaged first thread turn on the M12x1. Before installing the new guard, clean the lance thread and check its condition – especially if the previous guard was in use for a long time or was removed with resistance.
Is it necessary to replace the nozzle when replacing the guard?|There is no such requirement, provided the nozzle thread is in good condition. However, if the nozzle was used with a worn guard and operated with play, it is worth inspecting its thread for damage – play causes uneven load on the thread turns and accelerates their wear.
