Switch ETA

The push-button switch turns on the motor of the Kränzle quadro 599 TST unit, with built-in ETA-type thermal protection. The rated current depends on ambient temperature: 16.5 A at 23°C and 14.5 A at 60°C.

Application

The switch is fitted in the motor's electrical box, directly on the housing of the quadro 599 TST unit. It switches the motor power on and off, and automatically cuts it off on current overload, protecting the winding from overheating. The thermal protection reacts faster at higher ambient temperature – hence the lower trip current at 60°C than at 23°C.

Symptoms – when to replace

• The button doesn't respond or sticks in the pressed/released position
• The switch cuts the motor immediately after switching on, despite no overload
• The motor doesn't start even though the power supply and other electrical components are sound
• Frequent, random shutdowns during normal operation under lower load
• Visible discoloration, melted contact, or a burning smell near the switch

• By unit model: quadro 599 TST (230 V) only – the 799 TST and 899 TST (400 V) versions use a different switch with a separate overcurrent trip
• By rated parameters: 16.5 A at 23°C / 14.5 A at 60°C
• By comparison with the removed switch – the supply voltage must match (230 V, single-phase)
