Fuel Pump Solenoid Valve

Solenoid valve (without coil) forming part of the burner fuel pump. Controls fuel flow to the nozzle, opening and closing it electrically in line with the ignition sequence.

Application

The valve is built into the fuel pump (Brennstoffpumpe mit Magnetventil) and cuts off or opens fuel flow to the nozzle depending on the control signal – preventing fuel leakage into the combustion chamber outside the proper ignition and burner operation sequence. It works together with the separately sold coil (44.251 1), which electrically controls its opening.

Symptoms – when to replace

• The burner doesn't start despite a sound coil and correct control signal – the valve doesn't open fuel flow.
• Fuel drips from the nozzle after the burner shuts off, indicating the valve isn't sealing properly when closed.
• Unstable combustion or an intermittent flame despite a sound nozzle and ignition electrode.
• Visible mechanical damage to the valve when the fuel pump is disassembled.

How to choose the right part

Selection is based on reference number 44251 – this is the valve mechanism alone, without the coil. If the problem is a missing electrical signal to open the valve, the coil (44.251 1) may be needed instead of this part.

During diagnosis, check both components independently – the coil for electrical resistance, and the valve itself for mechanical sealing when closed, before deciding which one needs replacing.
