Galvanized threaded elbow, tapered R1/4" thread on one side, Ermeto 12L fitting on the other. Connects water line components at a right angle within the hose reel.
The elbow works within the hose reel, connecting the water path associated with the water guide shaft (Welle Wasserführung) to the further high-pressure installation. It allows the line to be routed at an angle without straining the fittings over a straight run.
Selection is based on reference number 44864 – it's worth comparing with the removed elbow, since hose reel design differs between Kränzle series (e.g. therm Profi TST uses a different water shaft and different connecting components).
When replacing the elbow, also check the condition of the clamping ring on the Ermeto line and the water guide shaft seals – a leak in this path often involves several components at once.
therm 7-15, therm 10-17, therm Starlet 3, therm-RP Starlet 3.
Is the R1/4" thread on this elbow tapered or parallel?|The "R" designation indicates a tapered BSPT thread, requiring PTFE tape or sealing paste when screwed into the socket.
Does the clamping ring on the Ermeto line need to be replaced during installation?|If the line was previously installed and the ring is already seated on the tube, tightening the nut on the same ring is usually enough. A new ring is only needed when shortening or replacing a section of the line.
Does the same elbow type fit the hose reel on the therm Profi TST?|No – the therm Profi TST uses a different water guide shaft and different numbering for the reel's connecting components. Before ordering for this model, it's worth verifying the exact catalog number.
How can I tell a leak at this elbow apart from a leak at the water guide shaft in the reel axis?|Dry the area around both components and run the machine under pressure – a leak exactly at the thread or Ermeto fitting points to the elbow, while a leak from around the reel's rotating axis points to the water shaft or its seals.
Does removing the elbow require dismantling the entire hose reel?|It depends on the accessibility of the mounting location – if the elbow is reachable without removing the reel's side cover, unscrewing it with a flat wrench is enough. Otherwise, partial disassembly of the reel cover may be needed.
