Buffer Tank Cover Seal

Sealing element fitted under the inspection cover of the buffer tank on older-production Kränzle quadro 800 TST, 1000 TS/TST and 1200 TS/TST pressure washers.

Application

The gasket sits between the buffer tank housing and the inspection cover, through which the water inlet runs and the float valve is accessed. It seals the connection between the cover and the tank housing and prevents water from leaking out during filling.

Symptoms – when to replace

• Water drips from under the edge of the buffer tank cover even though the star nuts holding the cover are properly tightened.
• The gasket is hardened, flattened or cracked and no longer deforms under the cover's pressure.
• The cover closes unevenly or loosely even though the fastenings are undamaged.
• Visible corrosion or streaks on the tank housing where the cover sits.

How to choose the right part

Selection is based on reference number 426051 and comparison with the removed gasket – the shape and cross-section should match the recess in the buffer tank housing.

This gasket fits the older version of the inspection cover, where the gasket and cover are separate parts. On currently produced quadro 800-1200 TST units, the cover and gasket are combined into a single part – in that case this gasket is not ordered separately.

Before ordering, check whether the cover on your unit can be removed separately from the gasket or forms one piece with it.

Compatibility

quadro 800 TST, quadro 1000 TS, quadro 1000 TST, quadro 1200 TS, quadro 1200 TST – older version with a separate inspection cover and gasket. Does not fit quadro 599 TST, 799 TST or 899 TST – these models have a different buffer tank housing with separate cover and gasket part numbers.

How can I tell whether the cover and gasket on my unit are separate parts or one piece?|Remove the buffer tank cover and check its underside. If the gasket can be taken off separately, it's the older version matching part number 426051. If the gasket is fused or bonded permanently into the cover's plastic, it's the current version and this gasket is not ordered separately.

Can this gasket be fitted under the new, integrated cover?|No. The new cover has a different edge profile designed for the fused-in gasket, and a separate gasket will not seat correctly in it.

I replaced the gasket but water is still leaking from under the cover – what else should I check?|Check the condition of the float valve and its seal, and the tightening of the M6 star nuts holding the cover – uneven pressure also causes leaks even with a new gasket.

Does the same gasket fit the smaller quadro 599/799/899 TST models?|No. These models have a smaller buffer tank with a separate inspection cover and a different gasket – the designs are not interchangeable.
