Plug 41714 is a component closing the valve chamber from the outside in the valve block (Ventilgehäuse 40.451 1) of the Kranzle pressure washer AM pump. The external thread M21×1.5 screws into the valve block bore, sealing the chamber containing the green check valve (41.715 1) and O-rings. The M21×1.5 thread is specific to this valve block – it is not a substitute for or extension of the standard M22×1.5 thread used in accessories and lances.

Application

The plug is mounted in the APG valve block of the AM pump – a single block contains several such plugs, each closing a separate valve chamber. With the plug correctly tightened, the chamber is sealed and the check valve can operate correctly – opening during the delivery stroke and closing during the suction stroke. The plug carries the pump's full working pressure and must be tightened to the correct torque so it does not leak or loosen under vibration.

Replaced during valve block service, when the thread is damaged, or when the plug leaks under working pressure.

Symptoms – when to replace

  • Water leak at the plug during pump operation – under working pressure or immediately after it drops.
  • Damaged M21×1.5 thread – the plug does not run in smoothly or shows play after tightening to the nominal torque.
  • Damaged wrench seat on the plug body – secure removal without risk of damaging the valve block is no longer possible.
  • Plug has loosened spontaneously under pump vibration – the result of insufficient tightening torque or a damaged thread.

How to select the right part

Identify by reference number 41714 and thread M21×1.5. The M21×1.5 thread is non-standard and specific to the APG valve block of the AM pump – do not order an M22×1.5 plug as a substitute. The 1mm difference in thread diameter means an M22 plug will enter an M21 bore only a few turns and will not seal correctly, damaging the thread in the valve block.

Valve block 40.451 1 contains several plugs – when dismantling the block, assess the condition of all plugs at the same time. A leak from one plug after extended use may suggest the remaining ones are in a similar condition.

When replacing the plug, also assess the condition of O-ring 15×2 (41.716) and O-ring 16×2 (13.150) in the same valve chamber – these components work together and replacing them with the block already open is justified.

Compatibility

APG valve plug for the AM pump valve block (Ventilgehäuse 40.451 1) of Kranzle quadro TST, Profi TST and therm CA pressure washers. Thread M21×1.5. Associated components in the valve block: green valve 41.715 1, O-ring 15×2 (41.716), O-ring 16×2 (13.150). Verify the exact compatibility range by reference number 41714.

[faq]

What is the APG system and why does the plug carry this designation?|APG is the designation for the valve set used in the Kranzle AM pump – APG valves are green check valves (41.715 1) mounted in valve block 40.451 1. Repair kit Rep.-Satz Ventile APG (41.748 1) covers the O-rings and valves for the complete block. Plug 41714 closes the chambers of these valves from the outside, hence its association with the APG designation – it is an integral part of this valve assembly.

Why is the plug thread M21×1.5 and not the standard M22×1.5 used in Kranzle accessories?|The M21×1.5 thread in the APG valve block is a deliberate manufacturer selection for the specific bore dimension in the block. Kranzle external accessories (lances, guns, connectors) use M22×1.5 as a connection standard – this is a different technical context from the internal threads of the pump valve block. Confusing these two threads when ordering a plug can result in purchasing a component that does not fit the block, and damage to the thread in the pump when attempting to screw it in.

How to assess whether the problem lies in the plug or in the valve block thread?|Unscrew the old plug and examine the thread in the block bore – it should be regular, without torn or flattened threads. Screw the new plug in by hand: if it enters with noticeable play from the first turns or does not grip the thread correctly, the thread in the block is damaged. Replacing the plug alone will not solve the leak problem in that case – a thread repair in the block (thread insert) or replacement of valve block 40.451 1 is required.
