Metal pin 6x40mm, securing the parking brake pedal. Works together with the longer 6x50mm pin (44.035) in the same pedal mounting mechanism.

Application

The pin takes part in securing the brake pedal (44.022) to the base plate of the mechanism, working alongside the neighboring 6x50mm pin (44.035) in the same assembly. It provides a stable pedal mounting and correct transfer of movement to the brake lever.

Symptoms – when to replace

  • Excessive play in the brake pedal's movement, despite a sound cam and brake pad.
  • The pin is visibly bent, chipped, or corroded when the mechanism is disassembled.
  • The pedal wobbles sideways or moves unevenly despite a sound longer 6x50mm pin.
  • Visible wear of the mounting hole at the shorter pin's seat.

How to choose the right part

Selection is based on reference number 44035 1 and the 40mm length – note the "1" suffix on the number, so as not to confuse this pin with the longer 6x50mm variant (44.035) used in the same mechanism.

When replacing this pin, also assess the condition of the neighboring 6x50mm pin and the 8mm Starlock cap (44.165) securing the mounting – both components work together in the pedal assembly.
