Hose Reel Connection

Component 44518 is the hose reel axle with a built-in water channel for the Kranzle 1150 T pressure washer. It combines two functions in one component: it forms the mechanical rotation axis of the hose reel and simultaneously guides working water from the fixed installation connection into the rotating reel. Water flows through the internal channel of the axle under the pump's working pressure every time the washer is used – regardless of the rotational position of the reel and the degree of hose extension.

Application

The axle is mounted centrally in the hose reel of the 1150 T washer as a dual-function component. On the installation side it accepts pressurised water from the pump through a fixed connection. The water channel in the axle carries water into the interior of the reel, from where it enters the hose wound on the reel. The reel rotates freely around the axle during winding and unwinding of the hose – the axle remains stationary, and the seals on the axle seal the rotating reel against the stationary water channel.

Replaced when the axle is mechanically damaged, the internal water channel is blocked, there is a leak at the sealing point between the rotating reel and the fixed axle, or the axle cracks at the bearing block mounting points.

Symptoms – when to replace

• Water leak at the reel axis under working pressure – worn seals between the rotating reel and the fixed axle, or cracking of the axle in the water channel area.
• Restricted or no water flow through the reel with the pump and hose intact – blockage of the axle's internal water channel by limescale deposits or mechanical channel damage.
• Noticeable lateral play or runout of the reel during rotation – damage to the axle at the bearing block mounting points or wear of the axle at these locations.
• Resistance or sticking when rotating the reel, not related to the hose or bearing blocks – axle deformation preventing free reel rotation.
• Visible corrosion or mechanical damage to the axle body – particularly at points of contact with working water or at the bearing blocks.

How to select the right part

Identify by reference number 44518 and washer model 1150 T. The axle with water guide is specific to the given hose reel model – axle dimensions, water channel geometry and bearing block mounting positions must match the specific reel design in the 1150 T washer. Do not order an axle from a different reel model without confirming dimensional compatibility.

When replacing the axle, also assess the condition of the seals between the axle and the reel (Parbaks 16mm 13159 – if used in this assembly) and the bearing blocks. These components work together with the axle and wear over a similar timeframe – replacement with the reel already open is more practical than a second disassembly a few months later.
