Self-tapping screw 5.0×20mm designed for fastening plastic components. Widely used in housings and panels on Kränzle pressure washers.
Application
The screw secures plastic housing components – depending on the model, this may be a hose reel side panel, a motor housing cover, or another mounting element of the unit's shell. The self-tapping thread allows direct installation into a hole in the plastic, without a separate nut.
Symptoms – when to replace
- The thread in the plastic is worn and the screw spins without tightening.
- The screw head is broken off or the driver socket is stripped.
- The panel or housing cover is loose despite all screws being present at that location.
- Visible corrosion of the shaft making removal difficult during disassembly.
How to choose the right part
Selection is based on reference number 43018 and the 5.0×20mm size – this screw is used across many different Kränzle series in the same mounting role, so the catalog number is a more reliable reference than appearance alone.
When replacing, check the condition of the hole in the plastic – if the thread in the plastic is damaged, a new screw alone won't provide a durable fixing, and a smaller-diameter hole or a larger-diameter screw may be needed.
