Dirtkiller 42 Nozzle Guard Plastic Cap

Cap 415402 is a plastic end cap closing the Kranzle Dirtkiller (Schmutzkiller) rotary nozzle guard on the lance side, intended for nozzle size 42. The yellow colour serves an identification function – it denotes size 42 in the colour coding system for Kranzle Dirtkiller rotary accessories. The plastic body of the cap retains its shape through repeated assembly and removal.

Application

The cap is fitted on the rear edge of the Dirtkiller size 42 plastic nozzle guard, on the lance side. Closing the rear opening of the guard prevents sand, dirt and contaminants from entering the space between the guard and the nozzle body during operation – contamination in this space abrades the body and can impede free rotation of the Dirtkiller rotary head. The plastic material of the cap is more rigid than the rubber used for Turbokiller nozzle caps.

Replaced when the cap cracks, is lost, or deforms in a way that prevents secure seating on the rear edge of the Dirtkiller 42 guard.

Symptoms – when to replace

• Visible cracking or chipping of the plastic – the rear edge of the guard is no longer sealed and contaminants enter the space between the guard and the Dirtkiller nozzle body.
• Cap slides or falls off during operation – loss of secure seating on the rear edge of the guard.
• Plastic deformation after contact with a hot surface or when working with hot water.
• Cap missing entirely – the nozzle guard is open on the lance side and contaminants have free access to the interior of the guard.

How to select the right part

Two parameters must match simultaneously: Dirtkiller nozzle size 42 and component type – rear cap. Yellow is the size 42 code for Dirtkiller nozzles – do not order by colour alone without confirming the nozzle type and size.

Cap 415402 (size 42, yellow) is not a substitute for Dirtkiller 35 cap (415404, light brown) despite identical material and function – different sizes mean a different diameter at the rear edge of the guard. It is also not a substitute for Turbokiller rubber caps (4154004, 415405, 415406).

When replacing the cap, also assess the condition of the Dirtkiller plastic guard (415281) – if the rear edge of the guard is damaged or deformed, a new cap will not seal the space without replacing the guard.
