Metal pin 6x50mm, rotatably mounting the parking brake pedal. Secured with an 8mm Starlock cap.
Application
The pin rotatably mounts the brake pedal (44.022) to the base plate of the mechanism, allowing it to pivot freely when pressed. It is secured with an 8mm Starlock cap (44.165), preventing the pin from sliding out during operation of the mechanism.
Symptoms – when to replace
- Excessive play in the brake pedal's movement, despite a sound cam and brake pad.
- The pin is visibly bent, chipped, or corroded when the mechanism is disassembled.
- The pedal wobbles sideways instead of pivoting smoothly around the axle.
- Missing or damaged Starlock cap, causing the pin to shift or slide out on its own.
How to choose the right part
Selection is based on reference number 44035 and the 50mm length – the same brake mechanism uses a very similar but shorter 6x40mm pin (44.035 1) for a different application, so note the suffix on the number and don't confuse the two variants.
When replacing the pin, also assess the condition of the 8mm Starlock cap (44.165) securing it in place, as well as the condition of the pedal itself (44.022) at the pin's mounting point.
