Ermeto Elbow 12mm x 12mm M18x1.5

Metal elbow connecting two line sections with Ermeto (DIN 2353) 12mm fittings, M18x1.5 thread on both sides. Fitted on the pump outlet within the valve block.

Application

The elbow connects to the pump outlet part (Ausgangsteil Pumpe R1/4" x 12) via a Usit ring and redirects the line leaving the pump toward the further high-pressure installation.

Symptoms – when to replace

• Visible leak at the M18x1.5 thread even though the Ermeto fitting nut is properly tightened.
• The elbow's thread is worn or damaged and the fitting nut cannot be tightened fully.
• The elbow body is cracked or corroded.
• Drop in working pressure during operation, with no other visible cause at the pump outlet.

How to choose the right part

Selection is based on reference number 42630 and matching the Ermeto 12mm fitting with the M18x1.5 thread on both sides – compare with the removed elbow for bend angle and arm length.

When replacing, check the condition of the Usit ring (item 38) between the pump outlet part and the elbow – if it is deformed or damaged, the elbow alone will not seal the connection.

Does the Usit ring between the pump outlet part and the elbow need to be replaced during installation?|If the ring is not deformed or cracked, it can be reused. If there's any doubt about sealing, it's better to replace it together with the elbow to avoid tracking down a leak twice.

Does tightening the Ermeto fitting nut require a specific torque, or is tightening "by feel" enough?|Tightening by feel until firm, without excessive force, is sufficient for typical service – over-tightening with a wrench can deform the clamping ring and cause a leak instead of eliminating one.
