Spray plug 4152612 is the fixed internal nozzle seated inside the rotating head of the Kranzle Dirtkiller (Schmutzkiller) rotary nozzle. The internal thread R 1/4" mounts the plug on the lance or gun outlet, and the 1.2mm orifice (size 028) determines water flow and jet force. The Dirtkiller head rotates around this plug under water pressure – the plug generates a fixed jet that strikes the rotating head at an angle, creating the rotary effect. The orifice size in the plug directly determines the intensity of the rotary nozzle action.

Application

The plug is mounted inside the Dirtkiller nozzle head – it screws onto the external R 1/4" thread of the lance or adapter. The rotating plastic or metal Dirtkiller head seats on the plug and rotates freely, while the water jet produced by the 1.2mm orifice drives this movement. Size 028 with a 1.2mm orifice is intended for machines with lower flow rates or higher pressure – a smaller orifice at the same pressure gives lower flow and a stronger cleaning effect from the rotary jet.

Replaced when the orifice is damaged or worn, blocked by deposits, or when a different orifice size matching the specific washer's characteristics is required.

Symptoms – when to replace

  • The Dirtkiller nozzle does not rotate or rotates irregularly with an otherwise intact head – a damaged or blocked plug orifice disrupts the jet that drives rotation.
  • Noticeable drop in cleaning effectiveness with the pump and pressure intact – orifice enlarged by erosion, or deposits narrowing the orifice.
  • Visible damage to the internal R 1/4" thread – the plug does not seat securely on the lance or leaks at the thread.
  • Limescale deposits blocking the 1.2mm orifice – the Dirtkiller nozzle loses rotation or pressure drops sharply when it is connected.
  • Need to change orifice size – the washer performs optimally with a different size than the one currently fitted.

How to select the right part

Three parameters must match simultaneously: internal thread R 1/4", size 028 and orifice 1.2mm. The plug size must match the flow rate of the pump in the specific washer – with too large an orifice pressure drops and head rotation becomes irregular; with too small an orifice the washer may operate at overpressure. Size 028 (1.2mm orifice) is matched to machines with lower flow rates than sizes 035, 045 or 06.

Internal thread R 1/4" (BSPT) is a taper thread – the plug screws onto the external R 1/4" thread of a lance or intermediate adapter. Do not confuse it with G 1/4" parallel – the thread geometry differs despite a similar diameter.

Identify by reference number 4152612. When replacing the plug, also check the condition of the Dirtkiller rotating head – if the head is worn or cracked, replacing the plug alone will not restore correct rotation.

Compatibility

Spray plug for the Dirtkiller (Schmutzkiller) rotary nozzle of Kranzle pressure washers. Size 028, orifice 1.2mm, internal thread R 1/4". Verify the exact compatibility range by reference number 4152612.

[faq]

How does the spray plug differ from the complete Dirtkiller nozzle, and can it be purchased without replacing the entire set?|The Dirtkiller nozzle is a complete assembly consisting of a rotating head and a spray plug. Plug 4152612 is the replaceable internal component – the fixed nozzle itself with the orifice and thread, without the head. If the rotating head is intact and only the plug is damaged or blocked, replacing the plug alone restores nozzle function without purchasing a complete Dirtkiller set. The plug is available as a separate catalogue item for exactly this purpose.

Internal thread R 1/4" – what does this mean in practice, and what does the plug screw onto?|Internal thread R 1/4" (BSPT – taper inch thread) means the plug screws onto an external R 1/4" thread – typically the lance tip or an intermediate adapter. The Dirtkiller rotating head seats on the outside of the plug body and rotates freely on it. Do not confuse the taper R 1/4" thread with the parallel G 1/4" – the latter will not seal correctly in a taper seat.
