Reel Shaft

The reel shaft is the metal axle on which the high-pressure hose reel rotates on Kränzle quadro 9/170 TST, quadro 11/140 TST and quadro 12/150 TST/TS/T units. The entire hose-winding mechanism, including the crank and reel bearings, is mounted on this shaft.

Application

The shaft passes through the center of the reel and forms its rotation axis, seated in the bearings of the reel structure's side panels. The whole reel turns around this component when the hose is wound and unwound by hand via the crank.

Symptoms – when to replace

• Play or wobbling of the reel on the axle when turning the crank
• Bent or warped shaft – the reel turns unevenly, with resistance at one point in the rotation
• Seized or corroded shaft hindering free rotation of the reel
• Crack or chip at the bearing or crank seat
• Excessive resistance when winding the hose that isn't caused by the crank mechanism itself
