Screw M6x35

The M6x35 star-grip screw is the fastener securing the water tank inspection cover on Kränzle quadro 599 TST, 799 TST and 899 TST units. The star grip allows the cover to be tightened and loosened by hand, without tools.

Application

The screw passes through the center of the inspection cover and threads into the water tank, pressing the cover together with its gasket against the housing. The star grip allows quick, hand-only access to the inside of the tank – for example during float valve service – without reaching for a wrench or screwdriver.

Symptoms – when to replace

• Cracked or chipped star grip – it can no longer be tightened by hand
• Worn or stripped thread on the screw shaft – the screw spins with no resistance and doesn't press the cover down
• Loose cover despite tightening – the screw doesn't hold tension, and water leaks
• Corroded shaft making it hard to screw in or out
• Damaged grip from overtightening or using a tool instead of hand force
