Friction component pressed directly against the wheel surface, locking its rotation in the parking brake mechanism.
The pad is pressed against the wheel by the cam (44.023), actuated when the brake pedal (44.022) is pressed. Friction between the pad and the wheel surface locks its rotation, preventing the unit from rolling uncontrolled while parked.
Selection is based on reference number 44024 – the same pad is used across many different Kränzle series, so the catalog number is a more reliable reference than visual comparison.
When replacing the pad, also assess the condition of the cam (44.023) and the pedal (44.022) – uneven pad wear often indicates the cam isn't operating correctly.
