Clamp securing the power cable at the point where it enters the unit's housing. Relieves the internal electrical connections from tension transmitted through the cable.
Application
The clamp immobilizes the power cable right at the entry point into the housing or electrical box, preventing pulling force on the cable from being transmitted to the internal electrical connections. This is a standard safety feature used on all electrical equipment in line with safety requirements.
Symptoms – when to replace
- The power cable moves freely at the entry point into the housing, even though it was previously held firmly in place.
- Visible cracks or deformation of the clamp on inspection.
- The cable is chafed or damaged at the point near the clamp – usually the result of prolonged lack of strain relief.
- Intermittent power supply when the cable is moved, which may indicate strained internal connections due to a faulty clamp.
How to choose the right part
Selection is based on reference number 43431 – the same clamp is used across a very wide range of Kränzle models, so the catalog number is a much more reliable reference than visual comparison.
When replacing, check the condition of the cable itself where it passes through the clamp – if the insulation is chafed, a section of cable may also need replacing, not just the clamp.
