Dirtkiller 35 Nozzle Guard Plastic Cap

Cap 415404 is a plastic end cap closing the Kranzle Dirtkiller (Schmutzkiller) rotary nozzle guard on the lance side, intended for nozzle size 35. The light brown colour serves an identification function – it denotes size 35 in the colour coding system for Kranzle Dirtkiller rotary accessories. The plastic body of the cap retains its shape through repeated assembly and removal.

Application

The cap is fitted on the rear edge of the Dirtkiller size 35 plastic nozzle guard, on the lance side. Closing the rear opening of the guard prevents sand, dirt and contaminants from entering the space between the guard and the nozzle body during operation – contamination in this space abrades the body and can impede free rotation of the Dirtkiller rotary head. The plastic material of the cap is more rigid than the rubber used for Turbokiller nozzle caps – it holds its dimension during assembly but does not absorb impacts.

Replaced when the cap cracks, is lost, or deforms in a way that prevents secure seating on the rear edge of the Dirtkiller 35 guard.

Symptoms – when to replace

• Visible cracking or chipping of the plastic – the rear edge of the guard is no longer sealed and contaminants enter the space between the guard and the Dirtkiller nozzle body.
• Cap slides or falls off during operation – loss of secure seating on the rear edge of the guard.
• Plastic deformation after contact with a hot surface or when working with hot water.
• Cap missing entirely – the nozzle guard is open on the lance side and contaminants have free access to the interior of the guard.

How to select the right part

Two parameters must match simultaneously: Dirtkiller nozzle size 35 and component type – rear cap. Light brown is the size 35 code for Dirtkiller nozzles – do not order by colour alone without confirming the nozzle type and size.

Cap 415404 fits the Dirtkiller nozzle – it is not a substitute for Turbokiller rubber caps (4154004 – size 40 grey, 415405 – size 45 green, 415406 – size 70 blue). Even though nozzle sizes of different types may be numerically similar, caps are matched to the specific external dimensions of each nozzle type's guard and are not interchangeable between Dirtkiller and Turbokiller.

When replacing the cap, also assess the condition of the Dirtkiller plastic guard (415281) – if the rear edge of the guard is damaged or deformed, a new cap will not seal the space without replacing the guard.
